When to use it

The little grid of squares means 'scan this' or 'show a QR' — payment handoffs, device pairing, ticket entry. Feather never drew one, so it's absent here; Tabler names it qrcode. The finder squares in the corners are what make it legible as a QR rather than a generic grid, so favor voices that keep those corners crisp at small sizes.

Reach for the QR code glyph when the action produces or scans a QR — 'show my code', 'scan to pay', 'pair a device'. The corner finder patterns are what distinguish it from a plain grid or a barcode, so it reads instantly as 'machine-readable code'. Use it for the QR affordance specifically; for opening the camera to scan anything, the camera or a dedicated scan glyph is a closer fit.

  • Reaching for Grid? Reach for the plain grid for a layout or gallery view, not for a scannable code.
  • Reaching for Camera? Reach for the camera when the action opens capture generally rather than displaying a QR to be scanned.
