When to use it

A door with an arrow leaving it means 'sign out of your account'. The naming is all over the map: Lucide log-out, Tabler logout, Phosphor sign-out, Heroicons the verbose arrow-right-start-on-rectangle, Remix logout-box-line. Arrow direction matters — it should point out of the frame; a few sets' login/logout pairs mirror the same door, so verify you've picked the leaving one.

Reach for log-out when the user ends their authenticated session — the 'sign out' item at the bottom of an account menu. The door-with-departing-arrow specifically says 'leave your account', which is why it beats a generic power button here: it's about identity, not hardware. Confirm the arrow points away from the door frame so it doesn't read as its log-in mirror twin.

  • Reaching for Power? Reach for the power symbol to shut down a device or service rather than to sign out of an account.
  • Reaching for Close? Reach for the X to dismiss the menu or dialog rather than to end the session.
